This morning I was really pleasant and early. It was a slightly slower beginning of the day, but at least we are moving. I placed my package and had too much food. However, he felt a waste to get rid of any of that because it was also very good. I’m just going to suffer and carry too much.
Then, finally, I had to say goodbye to slide, which was sad. It was really nice to be able to hang out for 36 hours with one of the only other people around the world who is doing the same walk this year. I know I walked for a while before in the year, when Punisher and I were starting this walk. It simply feels like such different moments, since I am now approaching the 6000 mile score for the year. Being able to talk to someone and interact with this crazy trip was really pleasant. It was definitely refreshing. Also, generally when I am in the city, I really just spend a lot of time alone. Having the opportunity to hang out with someone, talking and laughing is a rarity these days.
Although I probably shouldn’t have taken a day zero yesterday, I don’t regret it. It is likely that the opportunity will never emerge again this year to take a day off with someone who does the Triple Crown of the border year a border year. Who knows if I will even take another day zero all year with another person. So I think it was worth it. In addition, at least the weather yesterday was absolutely terrible. He literally lifted all the previous night, all day yesterday, and on the night and early this morning. If you had to take a day off for the weather, that was definitely the day to do it. And I know I can compensate for any amount of mileage if necessary. I have been averaging 35 miles per day since I have memory.
I had forgotten that today was one of my favorite parts of the Washington state. After climbing on the tree line, the path was incredible for the rest of the day.
It was fun to get out of the city and return to the path. Slide goes south and I go north, so our route literally separated to the right on the side of a parking lot. Then we said goodbye and he continued south of the way he had come. And I headed north in the way I had come. Due to the different segments of the path that we have made this year, it is very unlikely that we will see each other again this year. But I guess you never know what will happen. Actually, we both lived in PA before this walk, which is also great.

It was a foggy and misty morning when I went up to this line of rocky and exposed crest.
When I left the city I had a great climb to go up. The good thing was that I had service during the first hours. I ended up talking with Sparkle for a long time and it was really nice to get caught with her. We speak during an hour or more. Then, finally, I turned off my phone and concentrated on the walk. The whole first half of the day was uphill. But the higher the views became incredible. I think I go to one of the best parts of the entire path.

Now I remember that I am entering the section of the path where you are constantly surrounded by beautiful lakes.
Fortunately, after climbing for an hour or so, the path would level. Then the climb would resume and level again. You were generally uphill during the first 15 miles or so of the day. Give or take. But it could definitely have been much worse. I think the worst part was that many sections of the path are covered with loose rock. I just had to go slowly not to roll an ankle or something.
Today it ended up being a very interesting day in its own way. If you have been following the whole year, I will make a very specific «return». There was a time at the beginning of the year when the soda of My Friend Road arrived and left time for a day or so, and it was really great to see him. Then, when he left, I remember that I felt discouraged all day. It is not sad, because it was very nice to see it. But simply low after hanging out with a good friend. I felt the same after leaving Shaws Hiker hostel after staying there for a couple of weeks. I was anxious to get out of there and walk again. Even so, the day after I left, I felt something strange and low. And I definitely get a similar atmosphere today after spending a fun and a half day dating someone but experiencing the same walk as I this year.

I could not have asked for better views and weather after my free day yesterday.
Sometimes, high highs make them feel «regular.» Which I don’t think it’s the same as feeling sad. The two feelings certainly do not feel the same. I suppose it is a bit difficult to explain, although it has been a very common trend in my walk this year. Especially at any time when you spend prolonged periods of time with friends who finally have to leave. Or I have to go.
However, today’s hiking was absolutely incredible. I had fantastic views and my mind was drifting with the memory lane while remembering to have been here in 2022. Sometimes I think I can use the memory of the people I spent time before to think about thinking that I am not alone. The ghosts of my former friends through hiking continue along the way with me. Even if you are alone in memory of having been here before. That is something that I have found really useful this year in terms of morals.

Looking down in a bright blue lake underneath.
The trend of today’s path was that he would travel along a narrow and rocky crest, ending down and around. Then, eventually, a corner would bend and obtain views of an incredible alpine lake. It seemed that it did not matter to which side of any crest you were, there was a large, beautiful and blue lake underneath. It was a really exceptional day, and the weather could not have been better. I was super misty and a little wet in the morning. But he certainly did not need to use any type of rain equipment. He simply made a really nice and comfortable hiking climate.
Finally, early in the afternoon, the path went through a beautiful waterfall. Water was absolutely rough. And the crazy thing is that the climbing of the city apparently does not normally have many water sources. But due to all the rain yesterday, the path was covered with water. Today I started remembering that this Washington section has a lot of rivers crossing. And as I thought more and more about it, I remembered that there were definitely some river crossings today or tomorrow. And now they could be a bit wild after the rain.

This waterfall outside the path was absolutely roughly after all the rain yesterday.
I remember having to cross some incomplete trunks and review some particularly fast rivers. I spent a good part of the back of the day moving to see when and where those crosses could be. And it seems that I will have one or two tomorrow, but most of the rude and the crossing of rivers will not be until after leaving Stevens passing north.
I ended up finding more hikers during the day. But finally he went ahead and I didn’t see anyone else for the rest of the day. He planned to walk until night and probably to the dark. I had a start a little later this morning, closer to 8 am. And some sections of the path slowed me due to the loose rock. But I still hoped to get 35 miles for the day. If I do about 35 miles today and 36 miles tomorrow, then there is the possibility that I can end the night tomorrow at Stevens Pass. I could take a outplay in Skykomish with a hiker I know. Then I would have the opportunity to make a final position before labeling the term PCT. It would also be great to do some work because it was definitely not so productive on my free day yesterday.

After a while, I slowly began to descend once more.
The rest of the day ended up being really beautiful and time passed quickly. There was a lot of elevation gain to be done, but the views were unmatched. When the day began to finish and the sun began to wear, I was watching a massive lake underneath. Then, the last part of my day was a long descent to some sites of tents. I was dark while leaking water for the camp. Then I stopped just before a designated place next to a river. I really like to camp only when I appear late. It is good not to have to worry about being calm or taking into account anyone else. It is also good to have the opportunity to make a video edition, which often requires me to make me talk to me.

Massive mountains in the distance.
He had packed one of those coconut curry chickpeas dishes prepared in the city. So that is what I ate for dinner tonight and was absolutely incredible. Then I ate some snacks and relax for the rest of the night.
Even now I felt much better after having a slightly «strange» environment today. I am just the type of person who really gets excited super when I go out with friends or I can be social with people. So, sometimes I think it is almost more difficult to obtain a social interaction than not having any. I am very used to spending time on my own and maneuvering through this walk. So, the doors of the times I spent a day or so with friends this year, I usually feel a bit low the next day.

The sun is getting on a great beautiful lake. I knew in the following miles. I would slowly fall for that same lake.
I can only compare it with the feeling of the day after Christmas. Christmas is so exciting that it makes the next day feel a bit «bleh.» Although the next day it is not sad or bad at all. Today was really a really surprising day and the views were exceptional. And I know that while there will be some nearby obstacles along the way, I will go through the most spectacular sections of the PCT in Washington.
