Up The Kinsmans, until Snow Catcher (ECT 188)

«Because it seems that I hang so much from the story of what went wrong

And the hope of a new day is sometimes difficult to see

But I am finally realizing, yes, the past is just a duct

And the light, there in the end is where I will be

Because I’m from top to top, I’m up and up

And I have not surrendered, resigned from what I know I am capable of

Yes, I am in and up and yes, there is nothing left to demonstrate «

Beaver Brook Shelter To Snow Catcher Lodge

Twisted. Absurd. Diabolical.

I am not even sure to know what that last means, but these were the descriptive words that came to mind while fighting for the mountain of southern Kinsman. It was not easy to pull myself using roots while their hands are held, treading the smallest crack or diverse to rise rock cliffs 3 to 5 feet high and staggering the rock after a rock climbing and climbing. In addition to that, it was covered with graphics in some places. The positive thing about this was that while brushing pine needles, smelled like Christmas. Perhaps that is what caused the eye of my mind by imagining the representation of Jim Carrey del Grinch, when he says: «This is crazy!»

However, the lots happened even before this «wonderful» experience, so let’s start at the beginning …

I was walking before 6:00 am knowing that today it would be another great day. I stopped last night on the road to Moosilauke, but the most steep part was ahead and under me. This was the part that people had warned me. I was very happy that everything was dry because, if not Yeesh, I would not have liked to try to get into some slopes of inclined rocks.

Soon, the path began to be parallel to a waterfall current with waterfall after the waterfall. It was a very pleasant scene and I took many photos …

Incredible, right? Well, I just remember that it was not a walk in the park (I mean, I suppose it was technically if you consider a White Mountain National Forest park). Once below, I found a charming and well -timed parking lot with privileged container and garbage. It’s always good when that works.

Crossing Route 112 of NH and Kinsman’s notch, the path rose abruptly. It would be the beginning of some things of roller coaster up and down that culminate in a rise resistant to Mount Wolf. This was more difficult than expected. I think after Moosilauke, I had the impression that it could be something gentle before starting Kinsman. Bahaha, never underestimate the at!

Moose peaning! Did you know that there were Moosen in Woodsen in New Hampshire??

This is the upper part of Mount Wolf. After the difficult path to get there, it was a bit disappointing, if it is honest.

As shown above, I had the second point in the upper point «lookout». While hung there, some boys also climbed the short side path. After chatting, someone from behind view says: «Is that Stevie Wonder?» It was a ghost dog and recognized my voice haha. We had met, we walked a little together and hung in the city near the Shenondoah National Park and the city of Front Royal, Va.

The group of hikers with whom it was recently grouped for the whites, an intelligent idea. They moved to the north, but finally I put myself up to date and walked with/continued behind them for most of the day. Some of the others were Water Tobogán, Obi-Wan and Freebird. It was nice to be close to others and these guys did all the rhythm.

Starting with South Kinsman, things started well. But finally, it became the wild adventure that I described above.

Until we were very close to the top, the views began to appear. I had fallen behind others at this point, but I could hear them occasionally and it was as if they were directly on me in a cliff haha.

There was a last explosion of inclination after this, but finally we reached an opening of naked rock with stellar views. Having the opportunity to get your breath, Ghost Dogs said something like: «Well, that was fun.» One of the others expressed agreement. And they were serious. I could not avoid and laugh, he said: «You are crazy … I’m having a great time, but that was twisted straight.» That type of summarizes it. As I see it, the route up here could barely be called a path. Someone at some point said that I go to the top of this fool. They chose a line and now we all follow it haha. Anyway, we did it and felt a great sense of achievement.

The summit was still ahead and, therefore, after recovering the breath, we continue.

I expected a place to sit down there, but it turned out that the real upper part was more covered with trees. The group stayed close and had its rest in the shadow of the trees, but I kept going to North Kinsman to lunch on a shelf there …

Up The Kinsmans, until Snow Catcher (ECT 188)

I am reintroducing branch frog noodles in my diet. It is a fairly lightly and intentionally a lunch option, I am trying to lighten the load with all these steep climbs.

Another outstanding summit with the weather that could not have been better. I have felt very honest or privileged or lucky or something like that to have obtained these experiences about Kinsman and Moosilauke the last two days. It really is an incredible scenario for a human when the weather is pleasant.

The way down felt long and slow. I think it was something like 5 miles from the top to where the path crosses the interstate 93.

This is the first of the Cabañas of the Mountain Club of the Appalaches, The Lonesome Lake Hut. I wanted to check it, but I wanted to enter the city at a more decent moment. However, the group of 5 in which I was walking went to see if they could score some lemonade.

Lonesome Lake was picturesque. Many people were enjoying the view here.

I wasn’t quite sure how things would go tonight. He planned to go to the city to replenish and wait for a Nero or Zero tomorrow. However, where I would stay and how I would get there it was a bit mystery for most of the day. Finally, I nailed it to stay at Snow Chasers Lodge, which seemed to be a ski -host headquarters/I was not sure. And to get there, I hoped to do Caketop from the Flume Gorge Visitor Center, but I wasn’t sure how I would go.

After crossing under the interstate, a side path led to the visitors center. I was excited to find him paved after all the treacherous rock land in recent days.

After a mile, I was there and sprouted along the way. I did not have much hope, if it is honest, but in less than 15 minutes I was in a car that was heading through the mountain! My Savior today was Gary and left me right on the front sidewalk for the price of the Chopper groceries in Lincoln, New Hampshire! Thanks a good lord!

Wow, I could barely believe that all my schemes join together. A little crazy, this world through those who are accompanied. I jumped directly and the store was very busy with tourists. This city seems to be a destination for vacationers.

Then, I walked around half a mile and found housing snow. Collin, the place manager, showed me around and was immediately in the city mode. It was such an attractive and comfortable place. I obtained my little pizzas in the toaster oven, then I started the washing machine with all my dirty belongings, and finally they shower me. Boom. So refreshing. While I did my homework, I saw another hiker that was shown. It was late late!

The late beginning and found myself in the Hostel of Woods Hole. He also has a blog about the walk and in recent days we have been registering among us since we knew we were close. That said, I was pleasantly surprised to see him thinking that he was approximately one day ago. After a quick meeting, he went to dinner with a friend. I was so tired that I crashed early. I loved my introduction to whites, but as expected, they have also been kicking back!

Thanks for joining the trip! It means a lot that you took the time to read these adventures. If you want to help children get access to the outdoor, a cause that means a lot to me, please help me support Outdoor empowerment network!
