The African Cup of Nations 2024 of the ladies started with host Morocco who held a 2-2 draw of Zambia in the Rabat Olympic Stadium on Saturday.
Although it seemed as if the game was on its way to a big upset, with Zambia that led 2-1, Morocco’s Ghizlane Chebbak made it allow to end the game completely square.
This is the second consecutive edition of the Wafcon that is played in Morocco, with the hosts reaching the final in the previous edition.
Twelve teams are divided into three groups of four teams each. The top two of each group and the two best parties of the third rank will reach the knockouts.
The tournament that started on July 5 will continue for three weeks, with the final planned for July 26 at the Rabat Olympic Stadium.
