Lionel Messi hopes he can return to India after a successful GOAT Tour of Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai and New Delhi, the Argentine legend said after his three-day visit.
«First of all, I would like to thank India for all the live they have shown in the last few days. It was a great experience for us. It was intense and short, but it was beautiful to receive all the love,» Messi said in an Instagram video.
«I already knew it was coming, but to receive it in the first place was amazing. It’s crazy what they’ve done for us in the last few days. We’ll take all the love and we’ll be back.»
Messi’s tour was organized by A Satadru Dutta Initiative, with the Argentina captain accompanied by his Inter Miami teammates Luis Suarez and Rodrigo de Paul.
His tour started with an early hiccup as the first chapter ended in chaos and vandalism at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata, following his early departure. However, the remaining three legs went smoothly, with Messi playing rondos and keepie-uppies as well as kicking footballs to the fans.
«Hopefully one day we can play a match, but then we will come back to visit India. Thank you very much,» Messi added.
