Lionel Messi scored the 899th goal of his career on Sunday as Inter Miami defeated DC United 2-1 in their Major League Soccer match at M&T Bank Stadium dfsd.
After compatriot Rodrigo De Paul opened the scoring in the 17th minute, Messi doubled the lead 10 minutes later after a lovely pass from Mateo Silvetti before lifting it over the opposition goalkeeper.
This was the Argentine superstar’s 80th goal for Miami, taking his career total to 899, putting him just one shy of reaching the 900-goal milestone.
He scored 672 goals for Barcelona and 32 with Paris Saint-Germain earlier in his career, with a further 115 international goals for Argentina.
