Day 99-10 miles today from Kinsman Notch to welcome the host to hikers, 3,200 feet up, 4,000 feet down, Sobo Slack Pack
Hikers welcome the shelter
Yesterday, when I entered it was later in the day, so I did my normal trails. My tent was dried and all my other things that were wet from the rainy days. I obtained one of his frozen pizzas in the welcome hostel. I took a shower that is always pleasant after many days in the forest. Washed clothes.
And then he took out the map and looked at the whites. While I lay in my bed, I was having a little trouble sleeping at the beginning because I have not really established a plan to cross the whites. We have heard a lot about whites.
The enbounders had a different perspective according to the restart. They have already gone through a lot of challenging land, so when they said that there is a lot of fear with the whites that he said he takes that into account.

Here we go
3,100 feet rise more than 6 miles to the top of Mount Moosilauke from the parking lot.

This morning we started early at 7:30 with a southern slack package. It is a cold morning temperature in the 40s. It is a beautiful forest that rises along a waterfall stream.

Looking towards the future, the weather looks like a good weather window, except Friday, it will be very cold tonight, but I will be in the shelter. And then he is going to warm up, however, Friday it seems that it can be a rainy day. So I’m little worried about Friday.

Lost water
There were several of us doing this walk. We were able to talk and fly next to the last source of water in the shelter. It was half a mile later when I stopped and I realized that we are not going to get water up to four other miles. It was then that the path seemed to level a little, but continued to climb.

We continue to climb but not so exhausting a rhythm like the first miles.

And then we reached a corner and a rock face was dripping water, so we all stopped to fill with water. What a blessing was getting water.
The path continued up and then we arrived at the Alpine area on Treline, where it opened at the top. It was a very strenuous climb. The worst so far along the way with great steep climbs.

The summit
On the alpine area, the wind blew cold. I stopped at the top and got into a little broke that people had created with a lot of rocks. I ate my sandwich and drank a lot of water now that I had water.

It was so cold, although I needed to move again in a short time. Then the path followed the cairnes. The Alpine area was outstanding. It was the most surprising view. The best view so far along the way. After spending time at the summit, I decided that it was time to start the descent.
The path was difficult to continue because the path of the beads called the path of the carriage does not call the path. It was a different name.

The descent
The path descended from the Alpine area in a very flat section at the beginning, but that was about to change dramatically. The path descended quite quickly.
In the South Peak Trail Junction, I took the wrong way. Fortunately I stopped and looked at and then discovered my mistake. Unfortunately, more than half a mile had descended. I had to go back and return to the AT. I can see how easy it is to get lost here with bad weather.

When I returned to the crossing of the path, I started on the path that descended at 1100 feet per mile. This was very hard for my knees. It was also very slow.

The end of the descent
The path continued for a steep descent a long time and then began at level. I didn’t spend much time and went out to an open field.
When I entered the open field, a hummingbird arrived and landed in a branch near me. I stayed still for a moment and then came to me to check. Maybe it was my red shirt. I also noticed some beautiful butterflies of orange monarch playing in the field.
The sun shone and hot. A good ending for a very difficult walk. But definitely fun.

The path went to a paved road where we walked on a road for a while. Then, the path entered back to the land of the National Forest, where I found a magic of paths in the form of a Klondike bar.

Planning never works
Back in the shelter, everyone tried to plan the whites. There were so many different options. I remember the lesson that I learned previously about how planning only works with about 24 maybe 48 hours in advance.

Beyond those plans full of s ***. So I presented a plan with some short days and decided that I will go. I will solve it as you advance, we will see how that works.
