The new Premier League campaign is almost coming and there are some new things to look forward to in the coming season in Top football.

The eight-second rule
In the new Premier League season, keepers are punished because they hold the ball for more than eight seconds.
If a keeper exceeds the set time of eight seconds, the rules state that the referee will give the other team. The officials have also been instructed to warn keepers with a five second countdown.
The purpose of this new rule is to reduce time waste and will not only be implemented in the Premier League, but also other competitions.
Only captains can talk to referees
Implemented for the first time during the FIFA Club World Cup, the new season of the Premier League will only see the captains that have the authority to approach referees for an interview.
Players who are not authorized to speak disrespectful or to behave are booked, where the card is a yellow or red, depending on the severity of the violation.
If the goalkeeper is the one with the bracelet of the captain, the team can nominate an outfield player to talk to the referee.
Change in criminal rules
According to the updated criminal rules of the IFAB, a player will recapture a penalty if he accidentally touches the ball twice when kicking their spoils. This rule only applies if the effort arrives.
Indirect Freekicks
If a coach, a member of the supporting staff or a player from the field, touches the ball before he gets out of the game, the referee will assign an indirect free kick to the Optent.

Who are the newly promoted teams?

A new stadium in the Premier League
The Premier League season 2025-26 will see a new stadium, with Everton-shifting base of the historic Goodison Park, the house since 1892, to its new site, the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The new stadium of Everton, located on the Waterkant van Liverpool, has a capacity of 52,769. The first competitive match of Everton in the Nieuwe Huis will be against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday 24 August.
