Ousmane Dembele and Aitana Bonmati were named FIFA Men’s and Women’s Player of the Year respectively during the official ceremony in Doha on Tuesday.
Dembélé, the 28-year-old, played a key role in Paris Saint-Germain’s first victory in the UEFA Champions League, while Bonmati won the domestic treble with Barcelona.
The votes for the top awards are collected from four sources: the coach and captain of each FIFA-registered country, a nominated journalist from each country and an online fan vote.
