Mamelodi Sundowns took the lead against Borussia Dortmund during their FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Group F match at the TQL Stadium in Ohio on Sunday, thanks to a strike by Lucas Ribeiro Costa.
The South African club Mamelodi Sundowns qualified for the renewed tournament via the CAF ranking. During the qualifying period (2020-24) it reached the quarterfinals and semi-finals of the CAF Champions League twice a piece, making it qualified for the tournament.
