Rio Ngumoha wrote herself in history books when he scored a stop time winner on his Premier League debut for Liverpool against Newcastle United in St James’ Park on Monday.
Ngumoha, who is shy for three days to turn 17, has closed the decisive goal for the Reds in the 10th minute of added time to give his side the three points.
The teenager Vooruit becomes the youngest scorer in the Premier League for Liverpool, while he is the fourth youngest in history behind James Vaughan, James Milner and Wayne Rooney.
Ngumoha, a product from Chelsea Academy, moved to Anfield in 2024 and made his FA Cup debut last season, making him the youngest starter in the club’s history.
He impressed the pre-season tour to Asia, where he scored two goals and two more.
