Premier League Club Newcastle United FC announced on Monday that it has appointed Sudarshan Gopaladesikan as technical director prior to the start of the following season.
Sudarshan became a member of the club after a stint with the Italian club Atalanta, where he was director of football information.
He will lead the football data operations for the men’s, women’s and academy teams of Newcastle.

At Atalanta he supervised triumphs such as the UEFA Europa League in the 2023-24 season and also the successive top five ends in the Serie A.
Before his term of office at Atalanta, he spent five years with the Portuguese club Benfica as head of sports sciences.
Sudarshan, who has Indian origin, has also worked as a research assistant at Infosys in India.
