Newcastle United started his new Premier League campaign against Aston Villa in Villa Park in Birmingham. However, the magpies did not have their star -striker, Alexander Isak, in the MatchDay team.
Isak, who had 27 goals and six assists in all matches for Newcastle, rose to the status of a club hero when he scored the decisive goal against Liverpool in the League Cup final, which the team delivered his first silverware in more than seven decades.
After moving to Newcastle from Real Sociedad in 2022, the Swedish attacker has 62 goals and 11 assists for the Premier League side.
Why is Isak not playing Aston Villa VS Newcastle United?
Isak was initially in the plans of Nawcastle manager Eddie Howe for the 2025-26 season, but heavy transfer interests of League-Holder Liverpool led to a fall-out between the player and manager.
The gorge led Isak to start his pre-season training, separately from the rest of the team, in his former club in Spain, Sociedad. Later Howe admitted that it was not possible to integrate him into the team.
Before the Newcastle opening match in the competition, against Villa, it became official that Isak would be excluded from the plans of Howe, with the attacker from the team.
