The third-place match in the 2025 FIFA Arab Cup between Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates was suspended indefinitely on Thursday due to thunderstorms in the vicinity of the Khalifa International Stadium.
“While the venue maintained full operational integrity and the pitch remained in good condition, this action was taken by the referee and match officials to ensure the safety of all players, fans and staff in the stadium,” FIFA said.
Global Football’s governing body also said the decision to award the third-place winner will be taken in due course by the relevant committee within FIFA.
Jordan will play Morocco in the 2025 FIFA Arab Cup final.
