Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister wore a black protective headgear after picking up an injury against Manchester United in their Premier League match on Sunday.
What happened?
In the fourth minute, Mac Allister jumped to win an aerial duel and collided with Bryan Mbeumo. Mac Allister went down immediately, but the referee signaled for play to continue.
The moment became further controversial after Mbeumo scored a goal from that attacking move. Liverpool players protested the referee’s decision, claiming the match should have been stopped because it was a head injury.
