Why Thru-Hike?

Why the Continental Divide Trail?
I’m not going to hike the Continental Divide Trail alone.
I’m going to do it with Nemo, my partner for ten years. We love spending time together outdoors, and this will be our second hike after the Pacific Crest Trail in 2022.
At first glance, that alone seems like a good enough answer. But it is also the question we are asked the most. When we told friends and family about our plans, almost everyone responded the same way:
“Why again?”
“You already did it.”
“Wasn’t that a wish list?”
And honestly…
