Andrea Pirlo’s Birthday Club Brescia, with some of the greats of the game, such as Roberto Baggio, Gheorghe Hagi and Pep Guardiola, were thrown from Series C after their license had been withdrawn because of non -compliance with legal and financial criteria.
The club was relegated to the third level of Italian football after he had moored eight points in May by the Italian Football Federation (Figc) for a series of financial violations.
The President Massimo Cellino of the club, formerly responsible for the English side Leeds United, and director Edoardo Cellino was transferred for six months by a Figc Tribunal.
«The conclusion of which the Commission has established that the ‘legal and economic financial criteria’ for obtaining the national license with a view to admission to the Serie C championship 2025-2026 … not suffered,» said the Figc in a media release on Thursday.
Brescia therefore did not receive a license for next season and would not be admitted to series C, it added.
The Figc also said that Brescia had not paid 1.1 million euros ($ 1.30 million) debts to Series B as of January 31 and also had unpaid debts for players and coaching staff.
