Bayer Leverkusen’s match against Hamburger SV in the Bundesliga was postponed at short notice on Tuesday due to structural problems with the roof of the Hamburg stadium.
In an announcement less than three hours before kickoff, the league said the Volkspark Stadium was closed due to “weather-related structural risks in the vicinity of the roof of the stadium.” The competition will be moved to a later date.
A new match between Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt has started as planned. Two later matches, Borussia Dortmund vs. Werder Bremen and Mainz vs. Heidenheim, will also continue.

It is the third Bundesliga match in recent days to be cancelled. Two matches originally scheduled for Saturday were postponed due to safety concerns surrounding snow and ice in northern Germany.
The match between Hamburg’s St. Pauli and Leipzig and the other between Werder Bremen and Hoffenheim were both moved to January 27 earlier Wednesday.
