Defending champion Australia is in a «great place as a team», because it is completing the preparations for the upcoming world cup World Cup in India in India in India, according to skipper Alyssa Healy. The Wicketkeeper-Batter, who leads the side in her third World Cup, believes that the team is balanced and well prepared after having spent a valuable time together.
The structure of Australia was expanded, with the team from a successful bilateral series against host India. «We could no longer be enthusiastic to be here in India and to complete our preparations for the World Cup,» Healy wrote in a column released by the ICC. «It’s a great place to play and we are all reasonably well known somewhere.»
The lead-up series has offered the team a crucial opportunity to acclimatize local circumstances and test the depth. «The three ODIs against India in the run -up will give us the opportunity to acclimatize and put the finishing touches to our preparation,» she added.

Healy also emphasized the balanced character of the team. «Our group is incredibly well balanced with a lot of youth to supplement the more experienced players, and although it will be their first ODI World Cup for some, they all have exposure to large tournaments and high -pressure series.»
An important boost for the team is the return of left-arm spinner Sophie Molineux, who has conquered a knee injury. «She had a rough run with injuries, so it will be great to see her again in the green and gold during the World Cup.»
Healy also enjoys the unique format of the tournament. «What I like best about ODI World Cups is able to play every side, knowing that you have to beat every team in the world to cancel that trophy, she makes it difficult to win,» she said. «We know that we have to play consistently everywhere and every game is important. Our group is looking forward to that challenge and can’t wait to get started!»
