Yamal has to concentrate on the working speed to reach top level, says Barcelona head coach Flick for PSG Clash

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick said on Tuesday that as Teenage Star Lamine Yamal should get the top, he must concentrate on improving his working speed, prior to the Champions League collision against Paris Saint-Germain.

The holder visits Barcelona on Wednesday and the 18-year-old winger Yamal would like to shine after ending as second place in the Ballon d’Or Gala last week, behind PSG’s Ousmane Dembele.

Yamal returned on Sunday from a lies injury against Real Sociedad in La Liga and offered a minute a minute after he came from the couch during a clear second half of Cameo.

«(Him) super, super, super, I don’t like this … he is 18 years old and for me he also has to concentrate on hard work,» Flick told reporters.

«It is not always easy, with talent you can come to this point, but to reach the next level, one or two more steps – and I think he can do that – he has to work hard.»

Last season, Barcelona won a domestic Treble from La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup, but just fell short in the Champions League, struck by Inter Milan despite two sensational displays from Yamal.

Against the attacking PSG side of Luis Enrique, Flick Yamal and his teammates popped down when the French champions are in possession.

«It’s not just about playing with the ball, it also defends,» Flick continued.

«This is what we need from every player – even a great player with the ball like him – and this makes the difference.»

Flick said he had to beat PSG, his team had to concentrate from «the first second to the end of the game» and play at the highest level.

Rashford has arrived ‘

The coach also praised Marcus Rashford, who has settled on the left flank for Barca.

With Raphinha injured, Rashford is set to start against PSG. The attacker, on loan from Manchester United, yielded twice in Barcelona’s opening Champions League win in Newcastle.

«Everyone can see it in the latest games, the Newcastle match gives him a lot of confidence and now he is here, he has now arrived in Barcelona,» said Flick.

«This is not always easy to come to La Liga … with different opponents, a different style of how we play football, it has been adjusted (good).»
