I think that without walking tons of miles every day, my sleep quality is definitely suffering. Or, perhaps not the quality, but the amount of time that I can consistently fall asleep. During the last three days, with the lowest miles, I have definitely noticed that I only got up earlier every day. What could be a good thing, since there is supposed to be a heat wave this next week! So I could have to get up early to make miles, and then take a break from the middle of the afternoon of some kind.
Then, after 5:30, despite the fact that my alarms had not fired, my dream instantly became disturbing. Even when the planet’s alarm Caravan shot, and he was not close to silence him, I didn’t care too much, I was basically awake.
For breakfast, Mosey made us a propagation of bacon, fries and eggs. I couldn’t endure much, but that is just because over time on the road, I have become accustomed to «coffee for breakfast and breakfast while I walk.» So, although I had been awake for a minute, I still couldn’t. But it’s fine. Mosey said it is quite common among hikers of the Z generation not to be able to eat in the morning. Then she gave me a ziploc bag and let me pack the bacon and homemade fries.
Both PC and I move forward in the car, and we were removed back to the headquarters of the State Park! Mosey gave me a hug and let me know that everything was going to be fine, and with that, I said goodbye. She is right. I went on the way not to worry so much. Then it will be fine.
I actually started today, to find the perfect day. We had decided to walk together, even though she was one day behind me and probably needed another day of rest. Which meant that in total, I would have the coldest in New Jersey compared to what he would normally do. A day behind «schedule.» But the «schedule» is just me red, not I really taking care of my body. So it’s fine. First I found persuasion, and we had a long conversation about how things are going. Then I left her and found a perfect day! We walk together back to High Point State Park HQ, which I finally explored. I was … well. Only a camp store and such.
I immediately noticed the change of mood all day while walking with her. It was nice to have a partner to talk to. And although I still love my podcasts and my music, I thought I needed this change. We walked to the observation tower and saw the culminating point of New Jersey, thinking that we could continue …

Only to learn when we were already halfway through the mountain that the highest point was actually a blue fire of the path. UPS. Unlike Mount Roger, there was not even a great sign that announced it. Oh, well, that’s a lost beak. Maybe I return for it someday if I make a peak bag trip.

The next stop was the «secret refuge» of the AT, or the refuge Jim Murray. It is not so much a real secret, but the shelter is not an official refuge! The type only offers a small cabin to stay through hikers, if you wish. I just glanced … and moved on. I already saw that Spoonman had passed me beyond me. Of course he has done it.

The hours and miles went to Unionville, NY! After the culminating point, the AT actually feels horchy on the edge of New York/NJ for a moment, but all tell it as a sweater, since the path leaves it … in a moment. We have to remember that many of the states were formed with borders around the natural reference points, and the mountains are definitely one of those! But, about 11 miles from my day (and 16 in his!), The path has a half -mile walk to a city.

Unionville is a small town, with some friendly services for hikers. First we stopped at Wits End Tavern, for a quick loading break, besides food! I just had a simple hamburger … but I was so hungry that I hosted it before remembering to take a picture! UPS.

Then we walk to the general store of Horler and Deli to search Deet for her and some additional water bottles. For the first time in a long time, the shelter to which we go has no water. I would not have worried this before, but with the temperature he really rooted it today, I decided to be safer and carry an extra liter.
The perfect day sent some things home at the post office, and then we left the city, we ran towards the peanut on the road. He has had some rocky problems, so he stopped in the church hiker hostel.
Normally, to have water for the Pochuck mountain shelter, our stop point, you must make a quite long water transport from the city to the shelter, which is 5 miles! Originally, there was a water spike near, but it closed after a leak, and the city does not want to bring it back. Fortunately, an angel of path named Birdfeeder lives right on the road, and offers water and cold drinks of other types to all hikers. We had the opportunity to talk to him and learned about the sections he has made, mainly from NJ to NH! That’s a lot of hiking …

After a lot of walking and bordering the Wallkill Wildlife Refuge, we did the steep up to Pochuck, before claiming our attempts. There was enough team here! Kate, a section hiker who has just started, persuasion, chicken legs and grams, another gram of gramo Weenie! He and I try to find ways to cut my weight … and we could have some solutions. But we will have to wait and see.

We all have dinner at the table, looking at the sunset. It turns out that Grams also knew a little about the software, and after boring everyone at the table talking about 2 minutes, he tried to explain the basic concepts of how computers and programming language work C. Do I think we did? It was terrible. It was also funny.

It is good to walk while seeing people again. Maybe that’s why Pennsylvania was so miserable. I am a little between bubbles, as usual. But the difference is that, before reaching the people who started ahead of me, but they were at an average rate. I think that now all who are in front are fast hikers. And I’m fast … but not so fast. There is a reason why I never took a fast name. But it is good to have a company again.
