Day 101-7 Miles Today from Kinsman Pond Shelter to Liberty Springs Campsite, 2600 feet up, 2400 feet below, to Milla 1828 marker
Whites so far
Until now, in whites, the climb by the Moosilaki mountain from the notches of relatives to the Alpine area, perhaps two three miles, it was a hard climb that went to the south. Then, after leaving the Alpina area, a couple of miles up to the south of the mountain was hard. Come from Kinsman Notch was really hard after leaving Eliza Brook. There was a very difficult rock escalation for a mile more or less before reaching South Kinsman Mountain. That was very slow and I was very happy to see the shelter last night.

Zero?
I felt bad for taking a zero tomorrow, especially because it is only 5 miles to a collection point today. But there is rain in the forecast tomorrow and I definitely do not want to climb on some of these rocks of rock as if we were climbing last night if it is wet, raining and assaulting, in addition, I do not want to be in Franconia Ridge during a storm.
So I will have the rest of the day and all morning to rest. It is probably a good thing because I have been pressing a lot from Great Barrington, especially since I left Knockerz in the cookie house. I pushed Vermont.

My food bag
It started early this morning at 6:15. There was no need to hurry today, so I will take it easy.
My package is really light. It is totally due to food.
I picked up with my food. Most of the sobo I spoke had between two and four days of food through the whites. Everyone said you could get some food in the cabins, which really made it easier in food transport.

I am very happy to have a light package because I needed extra energy to overcome some of those difficult climbs yesterday. However, I really don’t want to eat the food in my pack.
I was so hungry last night that I ate two wraps that had cheese and meat sticks. And then I was still hungry, I ate another wrapping with peanut butter and honey. I also sprinkle in chilichesee in all my wraps. I did not eat much on the walk yesterday, apart from the snacks I had put in my belt pockets to take me through the walk. Last night with all that food I put in my belly, stomach acids approached in my throat.

Free breakfast
This morning there was nothing in my herd that I wanted to eat, so I made a carnation instant breakfast and a coffee shake and lowered it very fast. I hope to take something in the cabin in just a while.
The walk to the Lonesome Lake cabin was a bit technical at the beginning, but not so bad. I stopped and in the cabin shortly after 8:00, which is the ideal time to have leftover breakfast. I received some free eggs, oatmeal and some coffee.
The path after wandering and crossed several streams. The path continued a good easy descent to the interstatal where my transport service would have picked me up.

Nero, zero or walk in
They were just 10:30. I looked at what would appear next if I took a nero the rest of today and then a zero tomorrow. He would have to make 5,400 feet of climbing to get to the Garfields Ridge shelter.
I looked at the climate and it seemed that there is still a possibility of rain tomorrow.

I knew that today I would be crazy sitting on this beautiful day. And then sitting tomorrow when I should walk. So I decided to move to the Liberty Springs camp only 3 miles more but 2400 feet of climbing. And that will eliminate a lot from the escalation that I will have to do to get to the Garfield refuge. That will prepare me well for the next day to have a good day in Francia Ridge.

Chasing the storm?
The climb to the camp was continuous but nothing technical. The camp has become infamous for a bear that shattered someone’s store a few days ago. So we had to be careful where we eat and store food. Tomorrow we have to get up early, so we hope to avoid being on the crest when the storm arrives.
