Indian Super League club Kerala Blasters confirmed on Thursday that their captain, Adrian Luna, will be loaned to a foreign club for the 2025-2026 season.
Blasters, who shared the news via a social media post, added that it was a mutually agreed arrangement between the player and the club. The ISL side has not confirmed which team the Uruguayan midfielder will join.
Luna joined Blasters in 2021 and has made 71 appearances in all competitions, scoring 15 goals.
Luna’s departure follows continued uncertainty over the future of ISL. An ISL season, which usually starts in September, has been postponed this season as the business model is uncertain, following the expiry of the Master Rights Agreement (MRA) between the AIFF and Football Sports Development Limited.
The AIFF sent a letter to all ISL clubs on Wednesday, December 31, asking them to recognize their participation in the league’s shortened 2025-2026 season by Thursday, January 1.

Indian football has already seen a number of high-profile exits, with FC Goa captain Borja Herrera leaving the club saying the situation made it ‘untenable’ for him to stay in Indian football.
Bengaluru FC, meanwhile, has parted ways with both striker Edgar Mendez and manager Gerard Zaragoza amid the delay in the season, while Odisha FC has parted ways with manager Sergio Lobera.
