Premier League 2025-26: Grealish could be out for two months due to injury, ‘big blow’ for Everton

Scans confirmed Everton midfielder Jack Grealish’s foot injury is a stress fracture, a setback to his chances of making the England World Cup squad.

«It’s a big blow because he has been hugely important for us since the start of the season,» Everton manager David Moyes said on Friday. “He played a big role in the team.”

Moyes did not comment on reports that Grealish could be sidelined for two months or more. “It is not up to me to give the timescales and we have not yet received them from the doctors,” he said.

The 30-year-old Grealish is rented from Manchester City for a season. He has scored two goals and his six assists rank third in the Premier League this season.

Everton remain in «close contact with Manchester City», Moyes said when asked about Grealish’s possible early return from loan.

“We’ll see as we go along how that works and we’ll get more decisions from the specialists,” he said.

Grealish scored in England’s 3-1 victory over Finland in the Nations League in October 2024 under interim coach Lee Carsley.
