Florida Trail 2026 – Day 4 – Feels like Jurassic Park

I-75 Rest Area Towards Church on Seminole Reservation

Today would be the longest trail I have ever walked in a day.

16 miles to the church!

I was nervous at first, but after getting started I quickly realized that it was quite flat and I could gain momentum quite easily.

The crisp morning air and sounds of the trail upon waking got me excited for the long hike ahead.

I arrived at Noble’s Camp fairly quickly and decided it would be a good time to collect some water.

The hike from here to the next water source at Swamp Cafe was just over 7 miles.

Well…an alligator had other plans for me. I couldn’t get water because the alligator wasn’t moving. HA HA HA

I can’t blame him though… that sun coming up felt pretty good.

I ended up making it to the Swamp Café and was ready for lunch! The road was long and hot.

I had a Philly Cheese Steak with fries and was able to rest a little.

It’s crazy how much a good, hot meal from a restaurant can make you feel whole again.

After leaving the Cafe, I passed through the beautiful Seminole Reservation and arrived at the Church.

I am very grateful to the pastor and his wife who allow hikers a place to camp, wash clothes, and shower. It really is a blessing.
