Preparing for the JMT when he was young

I will start the JMT in less than a month and I have been making a ton of preparation during spring. I left a walk in the Shenondoah National Park with a friend and my mother (LSL). We made a 20 mile circuit one night on the road. We have also been making some longer day walks, such as a stretching along the AT in the Smokies, from the newly discovered gap to Charlie’s Bunion and recently we climbed to Saddleback Mountain with my grandfather in While in Maine.

Let’s talk about team

Now we are going to immerse ourselves on the juicy team. Do you wonder what a young person is wearing in my backpack? It is a question that many people ask me. So, if you are curious about what I carry, here is a list of what I am starting for the JMT:

Backpack: I have a DURSTON WAPTA 30.

Sleep bump: Kelty Cosmic Down 20

SLEEP PADENA: I just updated my sleeping pad for a more termar neoair. I have become higher and now it is full size, which only means more weight for me. Hurrah!

Pillow: sea to summit. Trucker and I have matching pillows.

CLOTHING: I wear all my own clothes, including two shirts, a Sunhouse, two pairs of shorts, a couple of leggings, a couple of base layer funds and a fallen Patagonia fall jacket. I also bring two pairs of hard socks and some underwear. I have a couple of Altra Lone Peak 8.

Cookset: Soto Thermostack Titanium Combo. Like the pot. Sometimes jump bringing the cup and pass with the pot only.

Food: I carry my meals for that day and all my snacks throughout the section. My mother carries my meals for the next few days so that my herd weight is not too heavy.

Then I take the rags as a small Swiss razor, Fluff (my fox), a handkerchief, a head band, my blog notebook (a very thin notebook where I write my blogs so that I do not use phone battery), a kula fabric, Good Good Sun glasses, a bottle of vessica cnoc water and an insect network.

Let’s go out

LSL and I leave for soon on a road trip from the National Park through the United States along the way to start the JMT. I’ve been asking for a trip like this for about a year, so I’m really excited. We will make walks in the national parks to continue preparing for the JMT.

One last thing … do not forget what I walk through the cats and I am raising funds for some cats of cats while walking this path through this GOFUNDME.
