Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has decided not to appeal the French labor court ruling that forced it to pay its former striker Kylian Mbappe up to 61 million euros (approximately Rs. 640 Cr.) in unpaid wages and bonuses, the club said. AFP on Friday.
PSG, which was ordered in December to pay the Real Madrid star within a month even though it decided to appeal, said it had decided to end the long-running legal battle.
“In the interest of accountability and to definitively put an end to a procedure that has lasted too long, the club has chosen not to prolong this dispute,” the club said.
The club was given one month to appeal, but that has now expired.
“Paris Saint-Germain now turns resolutely to the future, focused on its sporting project and collective success,” the spokesperson said. AFP.
The labor court said the final amount of between 60 million and 61 million euros consisted of 55 million euros in unpaid wages and another around 6 million euros in holiday pay.
After seven seasons at PSG, Mbappe joined Real Madrid where he earns an annual salary of 30 Million Euros (approximately Rs. 320 Cr.).
Mbappe scored 256 goals in 308 appearances for PSG, but the club won the Champions League for the first time last season after his departure.
