Day 66 – South Lake Tahoe

Yesterday I ended up doing more than 25 miles, he felt quite well. Lightning McQueen caught me just when the rain and hail began to fall yesterday afternoon. It was good to have it there only as an observer, since the next two snow crosses were a bit incomplete. I definitely do not approach the most technicians on the road, but I was glad to have an observer. We ended up camping just by passing the crossing of the road, and I took off, as usual, around 6:30 am

Today, I have a total of 14 miles to the road where I can do hutop at South Lake Tahoe. I have a package in the post office, edible to buy and decisions to make. I hope to meet with Jeremy and Snap, who should reach SLT later tonight.

I still don’t know if I’m ready for 25 every day, but I feel pretty good for doing more than 20 miles most of the days in the future. It will be good to see how well my legs of trained paths do in Sierra in northern California a little less technical and mountainous. Speaking of northern California, the application, far, that we all use to track reference points, addresses and possible replenishment points divide the PCT into five sections. I am not sure if they do that due to memory problems (more likely), or if they do so they can sell different sections to the map, but South Lake Tahoe is the end of the mountains in its application. While I suppose it is exciting to officially finish a section and start another, it becomes a bit difficult when you want to look forward, I have to change the maps to do it. In South Lake Tahoe, I can change to the map of northern California, at least until you reach Oregon

Today there is not much more in my mind of hiker. My backpack is light as it can be, and I think today is a cruise. With luck, I can enter the range of cell phones before reaching the road, so I have a destination when I have a trip. There are about 10,000 hotels, more or less, in SLT, so I am not worried about getting a room. However, I will see if I can get a hotel with laundry, a jacuzzi and a breakfast included where I can eat most of the cost of the room. We will see what happens.
