ISL 2025-26: Early goals help Bengaluru FC return to victory against Mohammedan Sporting


Bengaluru FC recorded a hard-fought 2-1 win over hosts Mohammedan Sporting SC in an Indian Super League 2025-26 match at the Kishore Bharati Stadium on Saturday zxc6.

Bengaluru dominated the first half with a disciplined organization and constant attacking pressure. The visitor took the lead in the 22nd minute when striker Ryan Williams scored from close range. The move started with a corner kick from Uzbek midfielder Sirojiddin Kuziev. The ball hit a Sporting Mohammedan defender and fell kindly to Williams, who calmly tapped it into the net.

Bengaluru continued to control possession and create chances. The visitor’s efforts paid off again in the 41st minute when Ashique Kuruniyan doubled the lead. Williams’ shot was cleared by Sporting’s defense but the ball ended up just outside Sporting’s penalty area, where Ashique Kuruniyan hit a powerful left-footer that beat goalkeeper Padam Chettri.

Mohammedan Sporting returned after the break with renewed determination and quickly reduced the deficit. Adison Singh’s cross in the 51st minute was cleared by Bengaluru defender Rahul Bheke but the ball reached Mahitosh Roy on the edge of the box. Roy fired a grounder past goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, bringing the home side back into the game.

The hosts pushed hard for an equalizer and came close in the 65th minute when Lalthankima’s powerful strike beat Gurpreet but crashed into the crossbar. The win lifted Bengaluru to sixth spot with seven points from four matches, while Mohammedan Sporting continued at the bottom with zero points.
