The Indian national team achieved successive victories in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifications after beating Timor Leste 4-0 on the 700-year anniversary of Chiang Mai Stadium in Thailand.
Manisha Kalyan played with a brace when Anju Tamang and Lyda also came to the score sheet.
With this victory, the Blue Tigresses are temporarily at the top of group B with six points from two games, followed by Iraq who has four points of so many games.
Only the group winners at the end of the qualifications come out of the tournament that will be held in Australia next year.
India has qualified eight times for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup. In 2022 it qualified because of the host. The last time the Blue Tigresses qualified for the continental event in 2003.
