This morning I got up early to cook pancakes. Being able to cook for people makes me happy. After a hearty breakfast, Red’s family dropped me off where I left him yesterday. Like most road crossings, today we started with a climb.
Opinions exist more than PUD members would have you think.
After the climb, I passed kilometer 400 on a gentle descent. The gentle terrain continued as I walked along a stream for much of the hike to Mountaineer Shelter. Mountaineer Shelter has benches at the comfortable height ideal for sitting and eating. The ideal height is probably different for each person depending on torso length, so your mileage may vary. Dipping into my recently gifted freeze dried snacks, I made PB wraps with PB and dried strawberries. They tasted great, but after five of them I moved on.
Tasty! Not like PB&J, but similar.
The smooth terrain continued for the remaining miles to the forest service road at 416.6. The clearing was full of good tent sites. I easily found four or five different possible bear hangings. The walk was short in search of water. Honestly, it’s a great place to camp for the first review. Around 9pm I woke up to a spectacle of engines, lights and air conditioning/DC as the ATVs roared down the logging road within 20 feet of our tents. Turns out the AT goes right through a popular ATV trail here. It’s your forest too, I’m glad you’re enjoying it. Lihat juga z3nins.
Great tent. Flatter than it looks in the photo.
The day was marked by a single refusal after dinner. As I stood, a sharp pain throbbed in my right leg, about three inches above my ankle. I had never felt pain there before and today I don’t remember anything that could have caused it. Let’s hope it disappears in the morning. Most pain does.
