Cristiano Ronaldo is set to return to the pitch after recovering from an injury that sidelined him for a month.
The Portuguese star strained his hamstring during Al Nassr’s 1-3 defeat to Al Fayha in February and ultimately missed Portugal’s international friendlies in March.
Ahead of Nassr’s match against Al Najma on Friday, head coach Jorge Jesus announced that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner will return to the matchday squad.
Another big name returning to the ranks is Sadio Mane, who dropped out with an ankle injury – an injury that also forced him to miss the international friendlies with Senegal.
«We have training today and Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane are expected to return. Mohamed Simakan’s injury is minor and he will train with us, while Kingsley Coman feels tired, and we will assess him during today’s training,» Jesus told reporters on the eve of the match.
With nine rounds to go, Nassr leads the Saudi Pro League standings with 67 points from 26 matches and will look to extend his lead as Ronaldo eyes his first Saudi Arabian title.
