Mohammed Aimen was 15 years old when he joined the Kerala Blasters academy in 2018. He spent the next eight years there, where he successfully graduated from the youth academy to the senior team.
After joining Sporting Club Delhi at the start of the 2025/26 Indian Super League (ISL) season, a quirk of fate saw the forward score his first-ever goal for his new club against his former side on Sunday.
As Matija Babovic also found the net in injury time, the hosts secured a much-needed 2-0 win at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The Blasters were reduced to 10 men when defender Aibanbha Dohling made a rash challenge in the 85th minute.
Delhi looked the more threatening of the two teams in the first half and earned the lead in the 36th minute.

The move towards goal started when right-back Lamgoulen Semkholun passed the ball to centre-back Rafael Alves in the Delhi half and sprinted forward in search of an opening.
Alves took note of Semkholun’s thrilling run and delivered a brilliant through ball across the grass towards his teammate. Semkholun used his physical strength to fend off a challenge from Dohling, then kept his composure to pick out an unmarked Aimen in the six-yard box. The 23-year-old converted from close range.
For the visitor, 29-year-old Frenchman Kevin Yoke looked lively with the ball at his feet. Operating mainly on the left flank, Yoke had a few chances to test Delhi’s defense but his wayward cross missed Blasters taking the lead.
