This publication is dedicated to the former students of Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps, for the last time in Erie, PA, but better known for me for being in Allentown, pa. As much as I, a student from the Cavaliers, I would love to ascend in the cadets, were an integral part of my love for the activity. FGH
I feel bad for stays in hotels with other hikers … just for how my schedule works. At least with shelters, they usually transport people at any time they want, or are so close to the path that people can leave. Here, the perfect day has to wait for me to get out of bed. I guess I could get your own trip if I wanted to.
Anyway, we go to continental breakfast in the Microtel. It really was really good! Instead of a gofres machine, they had an assistant that helped to make pancakes. In addition, they had muffins, fruits, etc. Without eggs or sausages, but it’s fine. I still have a hard time eating in the morning, but what I could get was delicious.
After packing and taking our time, we tried to get a hitch during the 2 miles back to the road … without luck. I know that other people generally have transport drivers or something, but I only called an Uber at some point. It was not until 10:30 that we were in Port Clinton, walking back to the family hug of the mountains. Today we decided to separate. The perfect day did not know if it was up to more than 20, and I did not blame it, it has been a fairly hard terrain. Then I began to approach.

The curse of being so close to the city is a lot of garbage. Puaj.
Another day in Pennsylvania, and rock fields are becoming progressively more difficult. But fortunately, they are the large Scramble type rocks, not the small rocks «Ouch Ouch». Although it was hot, and we started at noon, I enjoyed the walk to the pinnacle. Finally, it is high enough in Pennsylvania to obtain good views … and the climate cooperates. Double victory. Here, I tried to ask for some Uber meals to the Eckville refuge, so that I could have a last taste of Wawa. If you can’t say it, I love Wawa.

Even after immersing my head in the water, I was still hot. Ish.
The next third of the day in Eckville was mainly along a long forest road. Super Cruisy. One thing for which Pennsylvania is infamous on the path is to be the driest state in the AT: there are long sections without water and is starting to show! Each time, I have to make sure of camel and be deliberate on where the water is next. At least today, we have …
Eckville refuge! Like 501, it is a closed cabin that has a caregiver. However, even better, it has an toilet for Ras! I liked it, but the tragedy hit … for some reason, Uber canceled my order! Whatever, I have enough weight in my package that I should be eating, but it is still sad not to have fresh food. Here, I met with Peanut, Wingin-IT, Mr. Shorty and a new face, persuasion. I was surprised to reach them … The day I left the Harpers ferry, they were already in Pen Mar Park. But well, different steps. The three guys tried to convince me that Vortex, but persuasion saw that I was on a mission to get to the Allentown refuge and encouraged me to go.
Look, I would probably have stayed, if I weren’t trying to get to Palmeton on Saturday morning. My hip belt is coming and I am very excited about it! But I don’t want to get on Saturday afternoon, just for the post office to be closed. Unfortunately, that means pressing more today. Uphill and in … rocks.
Given how I was my beginning today, and the reputation of Pennsylvania, I knew it was going to arrive, but here it is. Delse on the rock climbing of the foot. I arrived at that around 6, so I knew I had to go a little fast so as not to get caught in this at night. Because climbing rocks at night is the most scary I can think.
Fortunately, my feet felt strong, and I could stir beyond this section. There was a camp of approximately 2 miles in front of the shelter … and I thought about it, but there was one more thing that led me. I didn’t really communicate with the soap and fission about where they were going, but I thought there could be a possibility that they were in the shelter, and I had not seen fission in almost a month!
Unfortunately, when I got to the shelter, they were not there. However, fortunately I met Father Tom here. Father Tom is on a walk … billions of miles inside. I went to the store, since I don’t like insects. Unfortunately, none of the tents sites was close to an acceptable level of plan. When I can feel an inclination with my feet, I know it will not be a good night to sleep. A guy was local and tried to help me find a place, but they were all inclined or had widows above. So … here I am, in the shelter. I hope the mistakes are not bad!
