Bengaluru FC received a major boost in the Indian Super League when the appeal against Braian Sanchez’s suspension was successful, making him available for the next match against East Bengal.
Sanchez was shown a straight red card for violent conduct in Bengaluru’s previous match against Kerala Blasters in the 34th minute. The numerical disadvantage ultimately cost the Blue dearly as they lost at home to the Blasters for the first time.
«Following an investigation by the All India Football Federation Disciplinary Committee, the red card has been withdrawn and changed to a yellow card,» the club said in a statement.
“The Club thanks the committee for its attention and fair process in reviewing the incident.”
Sanchez joined Bengaluru this season and has been a regular in midfield. He made eleven appearances for the club, scoring three goals and assisting once.
Bengaluru are fifth in the standings after eight rounds of the shortened ISL 2025-26 season and travel to Kolkata to take on the Red and Gold Brigade, who are level on points but are higher seeded with a higher goal difference and have played a match less.
