A football official and a player from Mongolia have each been suspended for trying to «manipulate» the outcome of an Asian Women’s Champions League match, the regional governing body said.
Football official Munkhtsetseg Batkhuu and player Namuuna Narmandakh were ‘found guilty of conspiring to manipulate the result of the AFC Women’s Champions League 2025/26 (Preliminary Round) match between Stallion Laguna FC (PHI) and Khovd Western FC (MNG) on 25 August 2025, contrary to Article 66.1 of the AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Code’.
“After an extensive investigation, the AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Committee has taken strong action against attempts at match manipulation by banning Mongolian football official Ms Munkhtsetseg Batkhuu and player Ms Namuuna Narmandakh from all football-related activities for ten and five years respectively,” the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) said in a statement.
The attempted manipulation related to the Champions League match between Stallion Laguna of the Philippines and Mongolian Khovd Western on August 25 last year.
Stallion won the match, which took place in Yangon, Myanmar, 6-1. Narmandakh did not feature in the game.
“These sanctions reaffirm the AFC’s zero-tolerance policy against any form of match manipulation and its continued commitment to protecting the integrity of Asian football,” the AFC said.
