FIFA on Wednesday unveiled the timeline for officially announcing the final roster of all 48 teams that will participate in the 2026 edition of the World Cup.
“FIFA plans to announce the official squad lists of 26 players from the 48 participating teams on Tuesday, June 2,” the sports world body said in a statement.
However, the national teams may announce the selections at any time, but they will not be considered the official selection until FIFA confirms on June 2.
How many players are allowed per squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup?
A provisional squad list consisting of 35-55 players will be submitted to FIFA by the participating countries, but it will not be published by the body.
The final list will then contain 23-26 players, three of which must be goalkeepers.
