Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele will undergo treatment in the coming days ahead of the Champions League final, his club said on Monday, citing discomfort in his right calf muscle.
The French forward was forced off the pitch after 27 minutes on Sunday during PSG’s 2-1 defeat by Paris FC on the final day of the French league. PSG coach Luis Enrique said after the match that he believed Dembele’s substitution was due to fatigue.
PSG said in a statement on Monday that the player was “removed as a precaution.”
Title holder PSG will face Arsenal in the Champions League final at the Puskas Arena in Budapest on May 30.

Dembele played a key role in PSG’s league title last season with 21 goals and went on to win the Ballon d’Or, but made less of an impression this time around, mainly due to nagging injuries in the first half of the season. But he still scored ten goals and seven assists in 22 league games in total, with coach Luis Enrique using him more sparingly in Ligue 1.
His performances had more impact in the Champions League. PSG are aiming for a second straight title after beating Bayern Munich in the semi-finals, with Dembele’s early goal in the second leg earning PSG a 1-1 draw and making it 6-5.
