I was glad when the taxi taking me back to Kinlochleven arrived a little early and there were no crazy delays due to the road works I had noticed the day before. And so, I was able to start walking the final stretch at 10:20 a.m. It’s not ideal, but it’s unavoidable given the two-night minimum stay at Kingshouse. After wandering around the village for 10 minutes, I began the important climb out of Kinlochleven. I expected it to be longer than it was and was pleasantly surprised when, after 26 minutes of arduous effort, I reached the point where you could look out over the town and the lake. …
