Manager Jesse Marsch signed a four-year contract extension with Canada through the 2030 World Cup, Canada Soccer announced Monday.
The American took over in 2024 after succeeding John Herdman and guided Canada to a fourth-place finish at the 2024 Copa America and last year to a FIFA ranking of 26, the highest.
“From day one, I have felt a deep connection with this team, with this country and with the direction of the program,” Marsch said in a statement.
“I am excited to make a longer-term commitment here, help develop this program for years to come and continue to push this group to the highest levels.”
Canada, which co-hosts the World Cup alongside the United States and Mexico, automatically qualified for the tournament and is preparing to announce its final roster later this week.
Marsch, a former coach of Leeds United and RB Leipzig, has a record of twelve wins, twelve draws and five defeats with Canada.
Canada Soccer said the expansion was largely funded by five Canadian families and supporters associated with the men’s national team program.
Canada hosts Uzbekistan in a June 1 friendly before playing its final World Cup warm-up against Ireland on June 5.
Marsch’s side open their World Cup campaign against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Toronto on June 12, before taking on Qatar on June 18 and Switzerland in Vancouver on June 24.
