Udoh spent seven months at Southampton’s academy from February to September 2025, making eight appearances for the club’s under-21 side in Premier League 2. He scored two goals during his time with the club, helping to the Premier League 2 play-off final in the 2024–25 season.
“Southampton Football Club is devastated by the tragic passing of our former player Victor Udoh at the age of 21. Our sincere condolences go out to Victor’s loved ones at this extremely difficult time,” the EFL Championship club said in a statement.
Udoh previously played for the Antwerp youth academy in 2023, making 21 appearances for the ‘Young Reds’ team and scoring 12 goals. In the same season he made his debut in the first team.
«Our thoughts are with Victor’s family, friends and loved ones. We wish them a lot of strength, support and warmth in this very difficult time. Rest in peace, Victor,» the Belgian club said in a statement.
Udoh had recently returned to Nigeria following the end of his spell at Czech club Dynamo České Budějovice, which he joined after leaving Southampton in 2025.
