Chelsea benefited most from mistakes made by the video assistant referee (VAR) and on-pitch referees in the recently concluded Premier League season.
According to the BBC, based on the report from the league’s Key Match Incidents (KMI) panel, Chelsea had four VAR errors, which helped matters, while not being on the side of a VAR error.
In total, Chelsea benefited from eight referee errors, while Arsenal had seven.
Arsenal, who won a league title for the first time in 22 years, made three VAR errors, which went to their advantage, but in return were awarded no fouls.
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal became the first team in history not to receive a red card or penalty all season.
In total there were 25 VAR errors this season, compared to 18 last season.
