The Upper Shake campground felt a little haunted. Bug, Jug and I woke up from the haze. We were all moving slowly, but we were moving nonetheless.
We have a little more pep in our step as we pass 500 miles!!! This is officially the longest hike I have ever walked and I am so excited to do it 4 more times.

The walk through the hills was very beautiful. There were lots of patches of shade and pretty wildflowers everywhere. The water sources were a bit strange and consisted of a few tanks and cisterns, but luckily we packed enough water to get from one natural spring to the next.

Somehow we got separated from Straight Up yesterday. He called us today and said he was about 10 miles ahead! I’m not sure when it happened to us, but he decided to go to Hiker Town and check out the scene for us.

We’re camping just 3 miles from Hiker Town, so we’ll meet up with him tomorrow to resupply, get some rest, and prepare for the infamous Los Angeles Aqueduct Night Hike. I can’t wait.
