Goodbye Pennsylvania! Well, very technically, there will be some in Pennsylvania tomorrow, but it could also be Delaware Water Gap and that’s my goal for today.
The only real hill today was Wind Gap, which wasn’t as bad as the previous PA gaps. Rocksylvania eased up a bit and gave me a lot of flat sections through ferns. Views of Pennsylvania farmland continued. Oh! And I saw a jet black squirrel. I hadn’t seen one of those since I was a kid, but I couldn’t get a photo. It was about the size of a red squirrel.
Once at Delaware Water Gap I settled into the church with a much needed shower. Someone dropped off a giant cake and another person brought a bag full of giant bagels. I’m so grateful for all the extra protein. Digs and I talk quite a bit about different nonprofits and how they are run.
For dinner, Kiwi, Trick and I walked to Doughboys Pizza. I can’t attest to the quality of the pizza since I bought a 20″ sub. Kiwi asked me how much I was carrying and I laughingly replied, «Oh no, this is just for dinner.» At most. People were passing around my bag of food a couple of nights ago and everyone kept saying, «Oh. My. God.» Even among hikers, like more than most.
Kiwi and Trick are getting a zero in church and I’m moving on. I’m bummed about losing the group with Kiwi and Trick, who cover similar miles, but I can’t afford zero.

- Snacks: pop tarts x2, fig bars x2, oat bar x2, nb oat crumble, clif bar
