The 2026 FIFA World Cup continues on June 12 with co-host Canada taking on Bosnia and Herzegovina at BMO Field in Toronto.
Canada returns to the World Cup after a 36-year hiatus, still looking for its first victory in the tournament and hoping to capitalize on home advantage to make a good start in Group B.
Bosnia and Herzegovina, meanwhile, is back at the World Cup for the first time since its debut in Brazil in 2014.
Who will be the referee in Canada vs Bosnia and Herzegovina at the 2026 FIFA World Cup?
Argentina’s Facundo Tello will referee the Canada-Bosnia and Herzegovina FIFA World Cup 2026 Group B match.
Tello has been a FIFA international referee since 2019 and refereed the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, including Morocco’s quarter-final victory over Portugal.
He’s not exactly a ‘chill’ referee. He likes to use cards when games boil over, having shown 10 red cards in the 2022 Boca Juniors vs Racing Club Champions Trophy final in Argentina. But his World Cup record is more controlled than that one chaotic domestic final.
