Paraguay’s Matias Galarza scored the fastest goal of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Friday, with a goal in the second minute against Turkiye in San Francisco.
Galarza found the net just 64 seconds after kick-off with a fiery left-footed strike into the bottom corner.
Earlier on Friday, Morocco’s Ismael Saibari had scored a 70-second goal against Scotland.
Galarza was brought into the Paraguayan line-up for the second match of the group stage after missing the opener.
The 24-year-old, who plays for Atalanta United in the MLS, was shown a yellow card just two minutes after scoring after a poorly timed tackle.
