The second round of Group F play at the 2026 FIFA World Cup came to an end with Japan beating Tunisia 4-0 on Saturday.
Earlier in the day, European heavyweight Netherlands defeated Sweden 5-1, thanks to a brace from Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey.
Group F points table
| Position | Team | Played | wins | Pulls | To lose | GD | Points |
| 1. | The Netherlands | 2 | 1 | 1 | 0 | +4 | 4 |
| 2. | Japan | 2 | 1 | 1 | 0 | +4 | 4 |
| 3. | Sweden | 2 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 3 | |
| 4. | Tunisia | 2 | 0 | 0 | 2 | -8 | 0 |
Qualification Scenarios:
As it stands, the Netherlands and Japan are tied on four points, with the former leading the standings due to more goals scored.
The Dutch will face Tunisia in their final group match, while Samurai Blue will face Sweden, and both can book their place in the round of 16 if they can avoid defeat.
Meanwhile, Sweden can qualify if it manages to beat Japan, but will also be in a good position to progress to the next stage as one of the top eight third-placed teams if it can avoid defeat.
Tunisia can no longer qualify for the round of 16, because even if the country manages to beat the Netherlands and Sweden loses, the country will remain fourth because it lost to the Swedes in the tournament opener.
