New Zealand and Belgium remain in the hunt for a place in the knockouts when they face off in a FIFA World Cup Group G match at BC Place in Vancouver.

Belgium have collected two points from their opening two matches, while New Zealand have a single point to their name heading into their final group match.

Who will be the referee for the 2026 FIFA World Cup match between New Zealand and Belgium?

The match between New Zealand and Belgium in Group G of the FIFA World Cup will be officiated by Jordanian referee Adham Makhadmeh. Since 2013 he has been a full international referee for FIFA.

He has regularly competed in the top Asian competitions, including the UAE Pro League and AFC Champions League Elite. Furthermore, at international level, Makhadmeh oversaw the decisive match between Saudi Arabia and Iraq in the Asian World Cup qualifiers.

The 39-year-old made his first ever FIFA World Cup appearance in the Group H match between Spain and Cape Verde earlier this month.

Over 64 matches he has averaged 4.61 yellow cards per match and has handed out a total of 203 yellow cards and 12 red cards
