Player Ratings Spain vs Austria, FIFA World Cup 2026 – La Roja enter round of 16 with 2-0 win

Mikel Oyarzabal scored a brace and Pedro Porro scored another as Spain beat Austria 3-0 to win the round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Los Angeles on Thursday.

The 2010 champions almost opened the scoring before the half-hour mark – off Marc Cucurella – but finally broke the deadlock six minutes later when the Real Madrid full-back put Oyarzabal in the penalty area.

Cucurella was in the thick of it again as he made an important pass to Alex Baena for the second goal, who then crossed for Porro.

Later in the second half, Cucurella’s wide cross from the left found Oyarzabal again as the Real Sociedad striker calmly beat Austrian goalkeeper Alexander Schlage and put the competition to bed.
