Erling Haaland’s record for scoring in consecutive competitive matches ended at 14 after he failed to score in the 2026 FIFA World Cup quarter-final against England on Saturday.
The Three Lions kept their composure and recorded a 2-1 victory after extra time, clinching a place in the semi-finals for the fourth time in history.
Jude Bellingham’s brace helped the side overturn the deficit after Andreas Schjelderup scored the opener in the 36th minute.
The Norwegian striker had scored in all of his side’s league matches since the UEFA Nations League B match against Austria in October 2024.
Haaland currently sits third in the Golden Boot standings with seven goals in his first appearance at the quadrennial event.
Since his debut in 2019, he has scored 62 goals in 55 appearances for the national team.
