New … York … City !! – The walk

There was a little noise from the city while camping behind the pizzeria/delicatessen, but nothing unbearable. Only the soft break of the dogs barking, the children playing in their courtyards and some cars stop throughout the night. But I slept like a baby. I love camping in the grass. But, as my alarm woke me today, I had to face an unfortunate truth. The adventures of the late beginning soon came to an end.

But not today! I got up and enjoyed half of the Corrado Deli, where I took a breakfast sandwich and a little coffee, drinking some to enjoy it instead of leaving in the misty rain. Yes, everything is wet, but at least there is another opportunity to enter the city today. Tomorrow, Daniel, a friend of the university, is going up to the MTA from New York to join me for a two -day excursion! So today it will end early, in Pawling. So, although he was miserable with humid socks to start the day, I could continue to know that the faster he walked, the faster there would be a respite.

The most difficult part of today was to have the mental strength to continue walking. There was nothing notable today, and it shows in my daily entrance. I think the only thing that kept me in motion was the uncomfortable feeling of having wet socks and cold feet. Moving is the only thing that would keep it at bay.

However, everything hurts. I am really starting to think that Altra’s Olympus Games are not the right shoe for me to walk more. As Rob said from Outdoor 76, while damping is good in some way, it reduces the ability of his foot to transfer the weight effectively to the ground, and I really feel it now. It seems that I am sliding and sliding inside the shoe so that my feet fingers do their job, even though the shoe is locked up.

I had a small excursion fun by the Nuclear Lake at least in the second half of the day. Nuclear Lake has been named since 1972, a near Plutonium Research Center had a chemical explosion nearby, although officials claim that it is safe to dive. I have seen others swim in it, and it looked very good … but today I was not wet, I was not going to bother me. Of course, I also found a lot of dogs with a strap here. *sigh*. I know that most people will not follow the rules, and most of the time dogs are not a problem with the belt. But when they are, they are a real problem.

I went through some shelters, looking for the names of the hikers I have seen before, before finally arriving at the Senderos de los Appalaches station in the MT. It is the only railway station directly on the path, and throws it directly to New York City, but only on weekends. Honestly, it is a drug that any station in the public transport system explicitly provides hikers. There are some traveler -style train stations near Boston for hiking/skiing, but it is not as convenient as the normal MBTA.

Here, I quickly went through Tad and Earthstar, a father and daughter combo that made his flip-flop, but continued while stopping me at DC Malaysia Food Truck, a legendary stop in the AT. The owner, David, helped me to cross the menu, and got a little shumai, some curry chicken egg rolls and a plate of pork noodles/dough ball, with a thai milk tea to finish. He was «I’m sure you’ll be hungry after this», and he was right. I devoured the food, which was delicious! A little fatty, but it is exactly what I needed on a day like this. Near the end of his day, I also got the perfect day of a bowl of vegetarian noodles, since she was also going through in the perenting later.

New … York … City !! – The walk

I posed for a hitch on the other side of the road, and in about 5 minutes, I took the city to the library. I have not been in one years! And this is super nice. Libraries today have evolved to have other community programs or loan programs to continue having membership. Here, there were video games to rent, and apparently they were even having a Nerf arms fight event tonight … which is incredible. I would like to have this type of event in my library when I was younger.

I spent some time doing a little light accommodation work in some blog posts, before addressing our hotel at night, The Station Inn in Pawling. He extends things, shower and rested a little while working and called friends. Originally I was going to get Turkish food, but it turns out that the Turkish place left the business a while ago. Then, on the other hand, I went to the Mexican place, I took a little and called some friends. It had been a bit since I called them for the last time, and we were trying to coordinate the Vermont meeting in a few weeks! After hanging them, my cat’s friends were available, so I called them while doing mine and perfect clothes for the day. She appeared a little late and was exhausted, but I appreciate that she had food for her to eat.

I ate some ice cream, saw some insects try to bite me, and then went directly to bed. It was a night for me along the way, and I needed to recover my energy. Am beyond Excited for leaving the middle Atlantic soon.
